Jazz in the Quarter

Government St. Jazz Pensacola hosts four-time winner of Pensacola In Weekly’s "Best of the Coast" award, Nobius, at their monthly Jazz in the Quarter event. Nobius has been bringing a blend of Jazz, Funk, R&B, rock and soul to Pensacola since 2015. $10 for members of Jazz Pensacola; $12 for nonmembers. A free cup of gumbo is included with admission. Monday Night Blues

7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19. Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St. Seville Quarter and the Blues Society of Northwest Florida are bringing the “blues” back to the Seville Quarter Entertainment District. Morning at the Museum

9 a.m., doors; 10:30 a.m., presentation; Tuesday, Feb. 20. National Naval Aviation Museum, 1750 Radford Blvd. Delight in a Chick-fil-A breakfast, captivating presentations from the National Naval Aviation Museum's curatorial staff, and a movie in the Giant Screen Theater. Brown Bag Opera

Donavon Frankenreiter

7 p.m., doors; 8 p.m., show; Tuesday, Feb. 20. Vinyl Music Hall, 2 S. Palafox St. For nearly four decades Donavon Frankenreiter has been traveling the globe, first as a professional surfer and now as a musician. Born in Southern California, Donavon spent most of his youth chasing waves, turning pro at the age of 16. These days instead of surf competitions, it’s concert halls that brings him to town, where he entertains audiences with his unique blend of laid-back grooves, philosophical lyrics and soulful delivery. Snowbird Hootenanny: Hawaiian Hoedown

11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22. Flora-Bama Lounge, 17401 Perdido Key Drive. Snowbirds are invited to the Flora-Bama Lounge, Package & Oyster Bar for a hoe-down on the line. Experience the essence of the Perdido Key area from Gulf Shores to Pensacola. There will be plenty of vendors giving away free goodies, along with music, activities and door prize drawings. Come From Away

Jazz that Made History

Feb. 12 through 27. Jazz Pensacola and the West Florida Public Libraries are partnering to present a series of free library concerts by Joe Occhipinti and the JazzAbouts to celebrate the rich African American roots of jazz during the month of February. Concerts will take place at noon Feb. 12 at the Bellview Library, 6425 Mobile Highway, on 11 a.m. Feb. 14 at the Molino Branch Library, 6450A U.S. 95A, 1 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Southwest Library, 12248 Gulf Beach Highway, 1 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Tryon Library, 1200 Langley Ave., and noon Feb. 27 at the Pensacola Library, 239 Spring St. There will be a special program for kids at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Pensacola Library. 1 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23 through 25. Pensacola Bay Center, 201 E. Gregory St. Pensacon is an all-inclusive pop culture convention for the fan community, spanning the genres of comics, anime, sci-fi, horror, gaming, and fantasy. Fans of all varieties of pop culture will enjoy a full weekend of excitement, meeting their favorite actors, artists, authors and other celebrities as well as enjoying live entertainment, cosplay and costume contests, intriguing panels, gaming, a film festival, unique shopping opportunities and more. The primary convention venue, the Bay Center, is where ticketing, celebrity autographs and photo ops, and the vendor floor will be located. Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

‘MacBeth: Sands of Fate’

7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 through 25. UWF Center for Fine and Performing Arts, 11000 University Parkway. The University of West Florida Department of Theatre presents an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s "Macbeth" entitled “Macbeth: Sands of Fate” adapted by Ashley McGlothren. In a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by environmental disasters and societal collapse, the adaptation reimagines Shakespeare's classic tragedy within a barren wasteland covered in shifting sands. $20 for adults; $16 for senior citizens and active military; $14 for non-UWF students and UWF faculty and staff; and $7 for high school students. Death by 5k: Coldwater Creek

8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24. Adventures Unlimited, 8974 Tomahawk Landing Road, Milton. Think you have what it takes to finish the Death by 5k challenge? This race will take place at Adventures Unlimited and requires participants to run (or walk) ten 5Ks over the course of 24 hours, starting each 5K 2.5 hours apart. The race headquarters will be at The Barn and the course will be a loop through the property, crossing over Coldwater Creek. More info: deathby5k.com.

I Pink I Can Run

9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24. Flora-Bama Lounge, 17401 Perdido Key Drive. Join the Krewe du YaYas at their 11th annual I Pink I Can Run four-mile run/walk for breast cancer. All proceeds from this event benefit The Keeping Abreast Foundations’ mammography and breast health programs. The mission of the foundation is to inspire hope and enhance life for those affected by breast cancer through early detection, advoca­cy, education and support services.
