Champions Of Magic

Jackson’s Steakhouse 25 Year Anniversary Food and Wine Event

5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7. Jackson’s Steakhouse, 400 S. Palafox St. Founding Executive Chef Irv Miller will present a five-course dinner featuring classic dishes from the past 25 years. General manager Matthew Mabe will pair four of the five courses with wine selections that complement each of the dishes. Living Colour

7 p.m., doors; 8 p.m., show; Thursday, March 7. Vinyl Music Hall, 2 S. Palafox St. The two-time Grammy award winning, multi-platinum rock band Living Colour will perform live in concert with special guests Gunshine. During the 1980s, rock had become increasingly segregated and predictable, a departure from the late '60s and early '70s, when musically and ethnically diverse artists topped the charts. But New York's Living Colour was one band that helped break down the doors by the end of the '80s, leading to a much more open-minded musical landscape that would help pave the way for future bands. $28. ‘Death of a Salesman’

Ashmore Auditorium, Pensacola State College, 1000 College Blvd. Venture with us to 1940s Brooklyn where we find a downcast traveling salesman, Willy Loman, who wrestles with past memories and mental decline. $11 for adults; $9 for seniors, non-PSC students; $7 for PSC employees; free for PSC students. ‘Decision Height’

7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 7 through 10. The Gordon, 306 N. DeVilliers St. In World War II, over 1,100 Women Airforce Service Pilots flew wingtip to wingtip with their male counterparts. Their contribution to the United States of America will be shared as PenArts presents Decision Height, a play that tells the story of six volunteers in the WASP program. More info: penarts.org.

Joe Bonamassa

Hot Glass Cold Brew: Art in Bloom

5 p.m. Friday, March 8. First City Art Center, 1060 N. Guillemard St. Art in Bloom celebrates the arrival of spring with a Hot Glass Cold Brew style celebration. Full admission ($25 members/$35 non-members) includes a handmade artisan glass or ceramic cup, entertainment for the evening, and two complimentary craft beers (or wine) for adults aged 21 and older. Entertainment for the evening includes glass blowing and pottery demonstrations, live music, an art market, kid’s activities, and a gallery opening showcasing works from FCAC’s Gallery 1060 artists. Carmina Burana

7 p.m., doors; 7:30 p.m., show; Friday and Saturday, March 8 and 9. University of West Florida Center for Fine and Performing Arts, 82 Service Road. The Choral Society of Pensacola presents the most spectacular concert of their season with Carl Orff's epic masterpiece, Carmina Burana. The performance will feature a chorus of 160 voices, the combined forces of the Choral Society and the University of West Florida Singers. It will also feature three soloists (soprano Sheila Dunn, tenor Christian Sanders, and baritone Jack Chandler), two pianists (Hyunjoo Kim and Meredith Stemen), and six percussionists, under the leadership of Matt Greenwood. $25 (adult), $20 (senior/military), $10 (student), $5 (child), and $15 (groups of 10 or more, available in advance only). 9 a.m. Saturday, March 9. McGuire's Irish Pub, 600 E. Gregory St. The McGuire's St. Patrick's Day Run is the largest 5k Prediction Run in America. Each runner/walker predicts how long it will take them to complete the 3.1-mile course. The finishers who come closest to the time predicted on their registration form wins. The event goes on rain or shine. Crossing the finish line is just the beginning, come for the run and stay for the party. Little River Band

8 p.m. Saturday, March 9. Saenger Theatre, 118 S. Palafox St. Little River Band garnered huge chart success with multi-platinum albums and chart-topping hits in the 70’s and 80’s. Boozy Bee Spelling Tournament

5 p.m. Sunday, March 10. Flora-Bama Lounge & Package, 17401 Perdido Key Drive. Have you been personally victimized by a grade school spelling bee that left you questioning whether you really knew English? Well, Flora-Bama has the event for you. Participants should be prepared to mix alcohol consumption with vocabulary competition. For each word, a contestant may ask for the definition and its use in a sentence.
