Monday Night Blues

Brown Bag Opera

Stomp

7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 30 and 31. Saenger Theatre, 118 S. Palafox St. The international percussion sensation has garnered an armful of awards and rave reviews, and has appeared on numerous national television shows. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. The return of the percussive hit also brings some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured and the addition of two new full-scale routines. Tickets: $89. Matisyahu

7 p.m., doors; 8 p.m., show; Wednesday, Jan. 31. Vinyl Music Hall, 2 S. Palafox St. For nearly two decades, Matisyahu has kept his creative spirit aflame by evolving his sound, melding genres, and testing the limits of the musical traditions that have inspired him. His latest release, "Hold The Fire," and its leadoff single “Fireproof” takes inspiration from a fire dream inspired by Matisyahu's Old Testament religion, which has meant so much to his spiritual and creative life since his recording career began in 2004 and his breakout track "King Without a Crown" blasted into the Billboard charts in 2005. Radio is Not Dead!

Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 1 through 4. Various locations. Thursday kicks off the event with the Radio LIVE! with WUWF and Sandcastle Radio VIP Party from 5 p.m. to midnight at the Museum of Commerce. Friday features the LIVE Radio Shows and Salsa Party event from 4 p.m. to midnight at 321 N. DeVilliers St. Saturday features the Marco Radio Show with Marc Woodward from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Gordon Community Art Center at 306 N. DeVilliers St., and the Saturday Night House Party with DJ Pete Perez and Manic's Madhouse with D-Manic from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Belmont, 500 W. ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’

7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2 through 18. Pensacola Little Theatre, 400 S. Jefferson St. Set in Swindon and London, the story is visually told through the mind of 15-year-old Christopher John Francis Boone, a mathematical genius with an unspecified autism spectrum disorder. The show is a mystery surrounding the death of Wellington, his neighbor’s dog, after Christopher finds the dog speared with a garden fork. Winner of the 2015 Tony for Best Play. Kansas: Another Fork In The Road - 50th Anniversary Tour

7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2. Saenger Theatre, 118 S. Palafox St. America’s preeminent progressive rock band, Kansas, embarks on a series of 50 landmark performances at some of the foremost theaters and performing arts centers across America and into Canada. The “Another Fork In The Road” Tour celebrates 50 years of the band’s illustrious music history with concerts featuring two full hours of memorable hits, fan favorites and deep cuts rarely performed live. 7 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3. Vince J. Whibbs Sr. Community Maritime Park, 301 W. Main St. Dubbed “the race with a view,” the Publix Pensacola Double Bridge Run is one of the premier 15K races in the country. The course carries runners over two bridges across Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound. The race begins in downtown Pensacola and follows a picturesque route through the historic district, along Bayfront Parkway, over the “Three-Mile” bridge, through Gulf Breeze, and finishes at the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk on Pensacola Beach. An after-party with awards, music, food and drink allows runners to celebrate their accomplishments on the beautiful, white sands of Pensacola Beach. Registration: $80 for the 15k and $65 for the 5K. Community Camellia Show and Plant Sale

9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3. West Florida Public Library, 239 N. Spring St. Bring Camellia blooms to learn how to prepare blooms for show, complete entry forms and discover what judges look for in a winning bloom. Prizes will be awarded in various categories. Navarre Krewe of Jesters 38th annual Mardi Gras Parade

1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3. Gulf Boulevard, Navarre. Join the Krewe of Jesters in celebrating 38 years of family, friendly fun, Mardi Gras floats and beats. Floats will enter Gulf Boulevard from Indiana Street and will move east to the traffic light. The official parade after-party will take place at Andy D's Beachside Restaurant & Deck Bar. An Evening Under the Stars

5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3. Big Lagoon State Park, 12301 Gulf Beach Highway. Big Lagoon State Park along with the Escambia Amateur Astronomer Association invites everyone to spend an evening gazing at the skies. Clear skies permitting, telescopes and binoculars will be set up to capture views of the moon, planets and other celestial objects. All participants must enter the park prior to sunset. Turner’s five No. 1 singles include “Your Man,” of which the official music video surpassed 223 million views. Turner’s album "Long Black Train" debuted 20 years ago and was certified platinum by the RIAA with nearly 1.5 million album sales, 1.3 million track downloads, and almost 315 million life-to-date streams.
