LAKELAND – With a bit more chill in the air across Central Florida and Polk County, indoor events are beginning to heat up across the area.

So, in addition to a restaurant, movie, bar, club or music hall, here are a few other indoor events and shows you might want to consider.

A Neil Diamond Tribute Featuring Keith Allyn

Keith Allynn has performed “A Neil Diamond Tribune” show in Branson for more than 10 years and has won many Branson Awards, including “Tribute Artist of the Year” and “Show of the Year.” He travels the U.S. paying tribute to Neil Diamond and will make a stop in Frostproof’s Ramon Theater, 15 E. Wall St., at 7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 28. You’ll get all the hits, including the eternally popular “Sweet Caroline.” Tickets are $25 to $35. Vegan Friends-Potluck Lunch-Lakeland

Head to Lake Parker Park, 910 Granada St., on Sunday, Jan. 28 for an 11 a.m. get-back-to-the-season of potlucks and good friends for brunch. Organizers are asking guests to bring a gluten-free brunch item or items such as hash browns, breakfast pizza, fruit salad, cinnamon rolls, French toast, crackers and "vegan cheese,” hummus and vegetables or any other breakfast favorites such as burritos or matcha tea. Houston, Texas native and gospel singer, comedian, minister and songwriter Mark Lowry makes a stop in Lakeland’s Polk Theatre at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27. A former member of the Gaither Vocal Band from 1988 to 2001, and 2009 to 2013 — along with Michael English, Guy Penrod, David Phelps and Bill Gaither. Lowry has recorded twelve albums, both music and comedy. He taped “Mark Lowry: Mouth in Motion” in 1993 at Carpenter's Home Church in Lakeland, which won a Dove Award for “Long Form Music Video of the Year” at the 25th GMA Dove Awards in 1994. Tickets are $25 and $40. Paranormal Cirque III

It won’t be your warm-and-fuzzy clowns and cotton candy circus, but it will be a three-ring circus on the dark side. The Paranormal Cirque III is bringing a more underworldly type of circus to the Eagle Ridge Mall, 955 Eagle Ridge Drive, Lake Wales, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25; 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26; 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27; and 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28. The cirque is complete with a “sensual journey of acrobatics, contortion, aerial acts and more.” You might want to keep the kids at home for this one. All women are invited to an evening of worship and words of motivation by guest speaker Lisa Harper at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26, in Victory Church’s newly renovated sanctuary, 1401 Griffin Road, Lakeland. Called a “hilarious storyteller” and “theological scholar,” Harper is a compelling communicator whose writing and speaking emphasize gaining knowledge about God and forming a close relationship with Jesus.
