Basketball fundraiser

Taking on the county sheriff's office and board of developmental disabilities staff, the Guernsey Eagles will host the annual fundraising game at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cambridge Middle School. This popular event draws a large crowd and was able to bring in between $800 and $900 in 2023. Two community celebrities − Mayor Tom Orr and businessman Allen Hunter − will act as the referees. Byesville Mayor Jay Jackson will serve as the timekeeper. Funds raised will be split between Guernsey County Special Olympics and Guernsey County Night to Shine. Game night

Purses and Pistols Pokeno returns for 2024 and tickets are going fast. Participants have the chance to win guns, designer purses and play games, thanks to the Guernsey County Sportsman Association. Held at Deerassic, this event includes dinner, raffles, games, and fundraising. Play rounds of Pokeno, a combination of poker, keno, and bingo for your chance to win. Proceeds will go to the Youth Shooting Sports Funding Foundation. Tickets are $75 each or $125 per couple. Extra Pokeno packets can also be purchased at the event. Head to the Byesville Volunteer Fire Department to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and is $5. Kids can register for the egg hunt that will take place at the Byesville Village Park at noon. When you're done at the park, hop on down to Second Street in Byesville for the Bunny Hop. Kids can visit local businesses and receive a treat at each one. Each business will be randomly giving out one lucky golden egg to win a gift card, basket, etc. This free, family-friendly event is scheduled to run from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Community father/child dance

The Good Deeds Service Club will present the Girl Power Glow Dance from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at John Glenn High School. This event is open to area children in kindergarten through fifth grades from any school or homeschool. Each attendee should bring a dad or a special adult as their guest. Pre-registration is encouraged. Tickets for those who pre-register are $18 per adult/child pair and $5 for an additional child. The cost at the door will be $20 per adult/child pair, with an additional child being $5. Bingo fundraiser

The Cambridge Singers will be hosting a spring bingo fundraiser at noon on Saturday, March 23 at the Secrest Senior Center in Senecaville. The doors will open at 11 a.m. with bingo starting at noon. Two packets of bingo cards will be $20. Additional packets can be purchased for $5 each. Bring the kids; they are invited to play as well for $5. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for crafts and photos. There will be a Chinese auction, a 50/50 drawing and a lottery tree raffle. There will be a variety of prizes to win and light refreshments will be available.
