Things to do: First Friday Art Walk, live music, doormat program at winery

Stroll along downtown Zanesville and take in local artwork during the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, Feb. 2.

Check out all of the ArtCoz galleries, as they open to the public. The Art Walk is scheduled to run from 5 to 9 p.m. Some of the participating galleries include Gallery Luminaria, Joel Yeager Art Studio and the Bunko Jess Gallery.

The Ron & Eric Cole Aircraft Aviation Gallery will feature "all new art and historically significant interactive displays include a rare 450-year-old Japanese arquebus, touchable linen that covered Charles Lindberg's Spirit of St. Louis aircraft during his 1927 transatlantic solo flight, a section of railroad track that led to Dachau Concentration Camp (preserved by a former Jewish prisoner of the camp), Ron Cole's original painting of the airship Shenandoah in flight over the Muskingum County Courthouse c. 1925, and much more."

Live music

Stay here in town for an evening of live music and great brews. Check out David Spires as he returns to The Barn. Spires’ upbeat, country style will get your toes tapping. The show is scheduled to run from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday. Upcoming events at The Barn include a team trivia challenge at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Patrick Masalko at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 followed by DJ Huffy playing your favorite hits. Create your own doormat

Create your own doormat at the Killing Tree Winery this Thursday. Forever Pallets will be on hand to guide attendees through painting their very own Valentine-themed doormat. The cost per attendee is $28, which includes all supplies and a glass or flight of wine. The full menu will be available available as well. Stock your freezer and help local charities. Join the Fraternal Order of Eagles from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday for its charity meat raffle. Admission to the event is $5, with proceeds benefitting 4 Paws For Ability, Columbus School for the Blind, Res Care and The Heart Fund. Princess party

Grab your little royal and head to the Once Upon A Time Princess Party. Attendees can get their hair, nails, and makeup done and a souvenir photograph for $20, with additional children costing $10 a piece. Guests are encouraged to wear their fanciest attire for the royal gala. WAGS 4 Kids, an organization that provides service dogs to children in need, will benefit from the event.
