Meadville Community Theatre

Girard Cemetery Walk

The Girard Cemetery Walk returns this fall, featuring an after-dark opportunity to meet and chat with the spirits of prominent figures from Girard’s past. Sponsored by the West County Historical Association, the Cemetery Walk provides a unique way to learn a bit of local history. Costumed storytellers portray former area citizens while lantern-bearers guide participants through the cemetery grounds. Tours depart from the First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 260 E. Main St., Girard at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free refreshments follow at the Presbyterian Church social hall. This tour is not recommended for children under 8 and strollers are not permitted. The walk will take place rain or shine, so please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. ErieCon Comic Book Convention and pop culture show

Comic book legends, voice actors and TV actors will be available at the Quality Inn, 8040 Perry Highway, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The new event features more than 80 vendors selling items such as comic books, magazines, toys, games, movies, television, anime, manga, wrestling, cosplay, artwork, sketches and apparel and more. In addition, a roster of comic industry professionals and fandom-related celebrities are in attendance for attendees to meet and greet. Confirmed featured guests and attractions include: Tom McLoughlin, movie director "Friday the 13th"; Linda Young, voice actor, "Dragon Ball Z"; Local cosplayer groups and a cosplay contest at 4 p.m. General admission is $20. Lights Out at the Lighthouse

Presque Isle educators will host a Halloween-themed evening at the Presque Isle Lighthouse Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Learn about different animal skeletons, the legends of Presque Isle, and explore the iconic lighthouse after dark. Costumes are welcomed, but please dress for the weather as most of the activities will be outside. Register by this Thursday.

Mercyhurst University Wind Ensemble

The Mercyhurst University Wind Ensemble, directed by Scott Meier, will perform on Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center.
