Mini golf will be the theme of February's First Friday in downtown Canton.

Festivities will run 5 to 9 p.m.

Businesses will have mini golf courses, including three-, six- and nine-hole options. Participants will have a chance to win prize packs.

Mini-golf locations include The 19th Hole, Silo Arts Studio, Rae's on Court, Gator's Joint, Cantonology, Carpe Diem Coffee Shop, Patina Arts Centre, Grapes in a Glass, Just Imagine, Miss Larana's, Canton Creator Space, Jerzee's Cafe, Strauss Studio, Boomdyada, Rae's on Court, Jerzee's Cafe and The Auricle Venue + Bar.

Also during First Friday, winter exhibitions will be on display at the Canton Museum of Art, 1001 Market Ave. N. Admission is free until 7 p.m.

Patina Arts Centre, 324 Cleveland Ave. NW, will feature the opening of a new art exhibition, "Unseen" by Rhiannon Massaro 5 to 9 p.m.

"Delving into the depths of her own darkness during a challenging period in 2021, (Massaro) crafted pieces depicting flies on bloody wounds, disfigured nudes, and other somber reflections," Patina Arts Centre said in promoting the show.

Josh Harris specializes in black and white photography, including rock concerts, cemeteries and street photography. The Canton resident's imagery will be exhibited at his first solo show, "Into the Dark" from 5 to 10 p.m. on Feb. 2 at The Hub Art Factory in downtown Canton.

The collection of paintings was first assembled as a form of personal catharsis.

"Massaro has been legally blind since birth, overcoming the odds to graduate art school and to continue creating," Patina Arts Centre said.

Strauss Studio, 236 Walnut Ave. NE, will have a closing reception from 6 to 9 p.m. for local artist Sam Lilenfield.

Also during First Friday, visitors to Just Imagine by Twi, 207 Market Ave. N, can create a glass heart sun catcher.

Canton photographer Josh Harris will have his first solo show, "Into the Dark," from 5 to 10 p.m. at The Hub Art Factory, 336 Sixth St. NW, featuring black-and-white photos of rock concerts, cemeteries and street imagery.

Silo Arts Studio, 431 4th St. NW, will be hosting "BestFriends!," featuring the solo works and large collaborative paintings of Hailey Huffman and Aleka Brown.

Canton Creator Space, 730 Market Ave. S, will feature the "Out of the Back Room" exhibition, with more than 60 pieces of artwork by 15 different artists.

Canton Comedy Boom will host a free show in the downstairs entertainment area of Patina Arts Centre, featuring comedians from Northeast Ohio. Doors open 30 minutes before the 8 pm. show.

Grapes in a Glass, 575 Market Ave. N, will feature spiked Arnold Palmers and apple cider in addition to bourbon, beer, wine and cocktails. Nick Stano will be performing live music 7 to 11 p.m.

Rae's on Court, 218 Court Ave. NW, will be offering spiked Arnold Palmers made with a choice of bourbon, honey fresh lemon juice and iced tea.

George's Lounge, 229 Cleveland Ave. NW, will feature live music from BZDZ & the Woovs starting at 6 p.m.

Jerzee's Cafe, 330 Court Ave. NW, will host a Taylor Swift-themed karaoke party with $5 drink specials.

The Auricle Venue + Bar, 201 Cleveland Ave. NW, will host a First Friday Dance Party 11 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The bar opens at 6 p.m.

Starz, 111 Cleveland Ave. SW, will feature entertainment with The Unit Experience starting around 9 p.m. Friday.

2. Standup comedy at Roxy Theatre

Roxy Theatre and Krackpots Comedy Club of Massillon will present comedian Michael Cheselka at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Cheselka has performed at comedy clubs, college campuses, cruise ships and on cable television, including HBO and Showtime. The Cleveland-based comedian also toured with the late Sam Kinison as part of the "Outlaws of Comedy."

"Till Death Do Us Part" will be presented Feb. 9-11 as a fundraiser for Louisville Community Theatre.

The murder mystery theater show will be at Waters Edge, 7805 Georgetown St. in Nimishillen Township. NE.

Stardust Dinner Theatre will present a "Golden Girls" tribute show Feb. 17 in Jackson Township.

Tickets cost $45 and include dinner; there's a cash bar. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at La Pizzaria, 3656 Dressler Road NW.

The performance features songs and will be based on three episodes from the hit television sitcom, including a murder mystery twist at the end.

Akron music artist Angie Haze will perform solo from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Fresh Thyme Market, 5509 Dressler Road NW in Jackson Township.

Known for indie pop and alternative rock, Haze and her band also will have an EP release concert for "Smiling" on March 1 and 2 at Rialto Theatre, 1000 Kenmore Blvd. in Akron. The show also features Floco Torres, an Akron hip-hop and alternative rock artist, and Stark County musician Anya Van Rose, who describes her sound as bubble grunge.

Haze's new songs are described as experimental and creep pop. The Rialto concert will feature "sing seats" and the opportunity for concertgoers to be part of a choral flash mob.

Van Rose, who released her debut album, "Lucky Stars" in 2023, also will be performing on Feb. 24 at Brite Winter, a nonprofit annual outdoor music festival at the West Bank of the Flats in Cleveland. Featuring more than a dozen bands, including Ray Flanagan & the Mean Machines, Chayla Hope, Wanyama, Black Island Condors and JD Eicher, the festival starts at 3 p.m.
