These Stars (and More) Should Definitely Join the 'Fast and Furious' Franchise

The next installment of the Fast and Furious franchise dabbled in some wish fulfillment this week when it was announced that Helen Mirren would be joining the upcoming eighth installment. Fans had been hopeful the Oscar winner would come onboard after she told Yahoo back in March 2015 that she wanted in.

Mirren joins newcomers Charlize Theron, Scott Eastwood, and Kristofer Hivju in Fast 8, which will be released next year. With those four, and many of the stars of the previous films returning, there’s probably not a lot of real estate left for more actors.

We’re going to ignore that because it’s inconvenient to our dreams and hopes. Here are 10 more actors we want — nay, we demand — to be offered roles.

Keanu Reeves with his pulpy John Wick skills would be a nice add. Pulp. Pulp Fiction. Samuel L. Jackson, who we hope seems as obvious to you as he does to us. Since we’re talking about one of Quentin Tarantino’s favorites, it seems the perfect time to include Kill Bill stars Lucy Liu and Vivica A. Fox.

Fox rhymes with rock. No the real “the rock,” The Rock, the movie that starred Nicolas Cage. Yeah, how has he not been in a Fast movie yet? Speaking of Cages, prisons are kind of like cages. Orange Is the New Black is a prison show, and it stars two people who would make excellent Furious stars: Ruby Rose and Laverne Cox.

I’m running out of really super-natural transitions. Wait! This actor had a super-natural transition from TV to movies: Michael B. Jordan! He’s a trending star these days. Speaking of trending, why shouldn’t Fast and Furious be #StarringJohnCho?

Are you buying what I’m saying? Maybe I should Kate Beckin-sell it harder? No? Just leave it there and stop writing? OK.
