There's a private island off the coast of Belize you can rent for $200 a night -- but there's a slight catch

Planning a trip for a large group of friends is undoubtedly a tall order, but this private island off the coast of Belize is the perfect vacation destination -- and it's available to book right now.

Kanu Private Island, a brand new listing that debuted earlier this summer, is a quaint getaway only 15 minutes by boat from Placencia, Belize. The island is about 2.5 acres, houses five 1,000-square-foot villas and according to the listing, offers a 'offers a one-of-a-kind sanctuary.'

Much like its sister island, Gladden Private Island, the retreat is a luxurious escape with local touches like the custom furniture. From the on-site chef to the full-time captain, you'll never need to leave Kanu Private Island during your stay. Other amenities include a large freshwater pool, kayak and paddleboards, a massage therapist and snorkeling gear.

To stay at this breathtaking resort, however, you'll need to come up with $4,250 per night -- but if you can secure 19 friends to join you, you'll each pay a little over $200 a night. The rate includes all transfers to and from the island, all accommodations, all meals, beverages including local beer and spirits and a ton of other listed amenities.
