"Pretty in Pink" has solidified itself as an iconic romantic comedy since it was first released in 1986.

The film was directed by Howard Deutch, written by John Hughes, and starred Molly Ringwald - who appeared in three of Hughes' iconic '80s movies.

Here's what the cast has been up to since the film was released.

Molly Ringwald starred as Andie, a fashionable teen who spent her free time drawing fashion sketches.

She worked at a record store called TRAX and felt self-conscious because she was in a lower social class than some of her peers.

Ringwald joined the popular show as Archie Andrews' mom during season one.

After costar Luke Perry (who played ex-husband Fred Andrews) died and the character was killed off at the start of season four, Ringwald's character appeared more frequently on the show.

Ringwald also plays a parent in Netflix's hit rom-com franchise "The Kissing Booth," which has a third movie set for release in 2021.

After "Pretty in Pink," the actress had a cameo at the end of the rom-com parody film "Not Another Teen Movie." She later starred as Shailene Woodley's on-screen mother on the drama series "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," which lasted for five seasons between 2008 and 2013.

Andrew McCarthy played Blane, Andie's love interest.

He was one of the "richie" guys at Andie's school who came from a wealthy family. His and Andie's differing social classes led to issues in their blossoming relationship.

McCarthy's most recent roles were on NBC's "Good Girls" and the final season of Netflix's "13 Reasons Why."

After starring in "Pretty in Pink," McCarthy appeared in the comedy "Weekend at Bernie's" and its 1993 sequel.

He went on to guest star on shows like "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "The Twilight Zone," "Gossip Girl," and "Monk."

McCarthy also appeared in Broadway productions of "The Boys of Winter" and "Side Man."

Outside of acting, McCarthy has directed episodes of shows like "Gossip Girl," "Orange Is the New Black," "The Sinner," "Good Girls," and "The Blacklist."

He also released two books: a travel memoir titled "The Longest Way Home" and a young adult novel called "Just Fly Away." His new memoir titled "Brat: An '80s Story" is set for release on May 11, 2021.

Jon Cryer starred as Andie's best friend named Duckie.

He was madly in love with Andie but afraid to tell her how he felt.

Duckie also had a memorable scene in the movie when he danced to Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness" in the record store.

In an interview with People, Cryer said that he worked with director and choreographer Kenny Ortega to put the dance together.

Cryer stars as well-known comic-book villain Lex Luthor on The CW's "Supergirl."

He joined the superhero series during season four.

"Pretty in Pink" was one of Cryer's earliest roles in Hollywood. Following the movie's success, he appeared in other films and short-lived shows.

Cryer is perhaps most recognized for his role as Alan Harper on the hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men," which starred Charlie Sheen and Angus T. Jones. Cryer earned seven Emmy nominations for his role and won the award twice (in 2009 and 2017).

The actor has also guest-starred on series like "Hannah Montana," "NCIS," and "Will & Grace."

Harry Dean Stanton portrayed Jack, Andie's father.

He died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in September 2017.

Stanton was already an established star prior to his role in "Pretty in Pink." After playing Jack in the movie, he starred in films like "Twister," "The Last Temptation of Christ," and "The Green Mile."

The actor also guest-starred as himself on season two of "Two and a Half Men" and had a cameo in the 2012 Marvel movie "The Avengers."

In addition, Stanton voiced a character in the animated movie "Rango," portrayed Roman Grant on the HBO series "Big Love," and starred as the titular character of the 2017 movie "Lucky."

Stanton's last roles were on "Twin Peaks" and "Frank and Ava."

Annie Potts played Iona, Andie's manager at the record store called TRAX.

Prior to the release of "Pretty in Pink," Potts starred as Janine Melnitz in the 1984 movie "Ghostbusters."

She reprised the role for the sequel that was released in 1989 and had a cameo in the 2016 reboot of the "Ghostbusters" franchise. Potts will return as Janine in "Ghostbusters: Afterlife," which stars Paul Rudd and is set for release in fall 2021.

Potts has also voiced the character Bo Peep in the "Toy Story" films since the first movie was released in 1995.

In addition, she guest-starred on shows like "Ugly Betty," "Boston Legal," and "Two and a Half Men." Potts also had a reoccurring role in the Freeform series "The Fosters."

James Spader starred as Blane's obnoxious, rich friend named Steff.

The show has a ninth season in the works. Spader has also earned two Golden Globes nominations for his role on the series.

After "Pretty in Pink," Spader and McCarthy reunited in the 1987 movie "Less Than Zero." The film also starred Robert Downey Jr., who would later become Spader's costar in "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

Spader earned his first Primetime Emmy in 2004 for his role as Alan Shore on "The Practice." He earned two more Emmys for his performance on "Boston Legal," a spin-off series in which he reprised his "Practice" role.

Fans of "The Office" will also recognize Spader for his role as Robert California on the hit show. He appeared on the series during seasons seven and eight.

In addition, he played the titular character of the 2015 Marvel movie "Age of Ultron."
