'The Voice,' The Day After: Dishing About the Top 10

This was a suspenseful, historic, and all-around immensely enjoyable week on The Voice, with a slew of great performances (many of which cracked the iTunes top 10), a shocking double-elimination, and even an awesome Miley Cyrus/Dolly Parton/Pentatonix “Jolene” collaboration. Is it too soon to nominate Season 11 for another Best Reality Competition Emmy? Mark Burnett better clear some more space on his mantel.

But, sadly, just as this season is really revving up, it will soon be over. Next week, four contestants will get the boot, and a week later, we’ll crown our 11th Voice champion. Right now it’s looking like Team Alicia’s Wé McDonald, Team Adam’s Billy Gilman and Brendan Fletcher, and Team Blake’s Sundance Head are the best bets for the top four finale, but we still can’t rule out Christian Cuevas, Josh Gallagher, or Ali Caldwell — or even Team Miley underdog Aaron Gibson, who continued to buck the odds this Tuesday by winning an unprecedented third Instant Save showdown.

Today, my “The Day After” co-host, Season 9 top four finalist Jeffery Austin, joins me via Skype to discuss this action-packed Voice week. Jeffery was in the position exactly a year ago — when he spent the holidays on the Voice set — so he speaks from experience. Let it rip!
