Meghan McCain gets cut off during heated discussion of the Mueller report on 'The View'

On The View Monday, a discussion about the recently released Mueller report once again pitted Meghan McCain against many of her co-hosts at the table. And before she was able to finish her point, she was cut off mid-rant by Whoopi Goldberg in favor of a commercial break.

The blow-up started with Sunny Hostin expressing her disappointment that Mitt Romney and other Republicans who are unlikely to support impeachment efforts against President Trump.

McCain, who has criticized Democrats in the past for helping Trump by cannibalizing each other, jumped into the conversation to say that defeating Trump in 2020 is less about what his republican supporters will do, and more about democrats winning over more voters in the middle of the country.

“I always took Trump seriously. This mess that we all got ourselves into, I blame the left as much as the right. And the demonizing of conservatives in this country, all Trump supporters in every way, you're getting him re-elected,” McCain said.

McCain went on to say that there are some decisions Trump has made that “aren’t the end of the world” that Republicans support, pointing to his moves with the Supreme Court.

As McCain continued to argue her point, telling to Hostin to “let me finish,” Goldberg looked to camera and silently sent it to commercial break, forcing McCain to quickly finish her point.

“Then you got no problems. Then he's gonna be out of office,” McCain said as the applause sounded and the camera panned away. “Then Republicans are just crap, and it doesn't matter!”

Viewers on Twitter were quick to respond to the heated debate, with many criticizing McCain’s defense of Republicans.

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. on ABC.
