It’s a common theme in football movies. The trials, tribulations, hard work and heartache of trying to achieve a common goal all boil down to the last play of the game.
As the players on the field take their positions, the tension grows in the stadium. Fans are praying, coaches are looking on intently, cheerleaders are cheering, and the coach’s wife blows a kiss.
The ball is hiked and the play begins to unfold. The quarterback is nearly sacked; the crowd winces. A few more defenders miss tackles — tragedy averted once again. Finally, the ball is released into the air. The only thing left to do is wait. Wait and see whether the ball lands in the right hands, or the wrong hands.
And finally, after what seems like an eternity, the ball is caught. The protagonist team has emerged victorious, and the crowd goes wild.
