Players... start your (chainsaw) engines! Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has been scaring audiences silly since 1974 and now the action comes to your tabletop courtesy of Funko Games. Yahoo Entertainment has your exclusive first look at the company's latest licensed board game, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Slaughterhouse, which hits shelves in August for $29.99 — just in time for the end of the summer BBQ season.

There's no chainsaw included in the Slaughterhouse box, but the game does boast a detailed recreation of the Sawyer family farmhouse along with sculpted figures that immortalize the members of that meat-hungry clan — from the Old Man to the franchise's main man... Leatherface.

Much like the first movie, the plot of Slaughterhouse is refreshingly simple: A group of unfortunate travelers wander onto the Sawyer property — and then have to escape with their flesh and bones still intact. Up to four players can take on the roles of the potential victims, while one player controls the movements of Leatherface and his kin.

The turn-based gameplay takes the trespassers through various levels of the Sawyer house, collecting items, accomplishing tasks and — most importantly — avoiding death along the way. Meanwhile, a "Chainsaw Panic Meter" ratchets up the tension and an achievement system unlocks special cards that carry over from game to game.

With the Texas Chainsaw film franchise (fun fact: the series' title style moved from Chain Saw to Chainsaw beginning with the 1986 sequel) currently in a dormant state, Slaughterhouse is the ideal way for horror fans to feed their appetite for fresh Leatherface content. Just make sure your stand five feet apart from everyone else when you do your version of the chainsaw dance.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Slaughterhouse will be available in August at most major retailers.
