The 'Snowden' Cast on Covering Up Your Laptop Camera and Reading Those Terms-of-Service Agreements

Joseph Gordon-Levitt assumes the role of controversial NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in Oliver Stone’s latest politically-charged provocation Snowden. And in speaking with Yahoo Movies, he and his castmates revealed their own concern about online privacy — and the steps they’re taking to ensure that their confidential material remains confidential. (Watch the video above.)

Gordon-Levitt confesses that his work on Stone’s based-on-real-events thriller has inspired him to be more attentive to the terms-of-agreements required by all digital services he uses. Meanwhile, his co-stars Shailene Woodley and Zachary Quinto admit that they take a variety of measures — from covering up their laptop cameras, to setting up two-step verification — to help lower their risks of being hacked. That said, as Quinto acknowledges, there’s only so much one can do to truly stop an expert from gaining access to personal information. And Scott Eastwood, at least, jokes that if someone wants to listen in on his phone calls with his mom, that’s fine by him.

You can watch Snowden’s stars discuss these hot-button topics in our interview video above. The film debuts in theaters on Friday.
