‘The Simpsons’ 600th Episode Spoofs ‘Hunger Games,’ ‘Mad Max,’ and ‘Kingsman’

The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror XXVII was not only the show’s 600th episode, it also treated viewers to spooky spoofs of several movies including The Hunger Games, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Kingsman: The Secret Service.

As per usual, the Halloween-themed episode was made up of several vignettes. In the first, Monty Burns was eerily similar to President Snow from The Hunger Games series. He made all the Springfield districts provide child fighters to battle for water. But the citizens made Mad Max: Fury Road type vehicles and broke Mr. Burns’s dam to access his reservoir.

The last vignette was a spoof of 20th Century Fox’s Kingsman: The Secret Service. It featured Moe as the leader of a covert intelligence agency, who recruits Bart to fight an unknown evil entity. The entity turns out to be Homer, and Bart ends up killing him, along with everyone else.

The show ended with a song, in the vein of James Bond, celebrating the fact that the show has reached the almost unfathomable milestone of 600 episodes.

The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Fox. Watch clips and full episodes of The Simpsons for free on Yahoo View.
