'The Path' Cast is Not Comfortable With the C-Word
Hulu is probably hoping that their new original series, The Path, becomes a cult sensation. But don’t even think of using the c-word when you talk about the religious sect that’s at the center of the Aaron Paul-led drama. “We don’t think of ourselves as a cult,” Hugh Dancy tells Yahoo TV. And he should know: The British actor plays Cal Roberts, the messianic figure who leads the sect. “We’re a movement. These people are genuine and sincere… They’re real seekers.”
One of these seekers is Eddie (Paul), who along with his wife Sarah (Michelle Monaghan) is starting to question his adopted faith, which obviously is going to make things uncomfortable for both of them on the commune they call home. For his part, the Breaking Bad star almost likens The Path, which Hulu will be releasing weekly starting on Mar. 30, to attending a weekly church service. “I think it’s going to create Sunday night viewing with friends and family,” Paul says. “Just experiencing all this together. I’m very excited about that.”
