The (Mostly) Charmed Life of Tyga

It must be nice to be Tyga — for the most part, anyway. After splitting with Kylie Jenner back in May, it became clear that the 26-year-old rapper had recaptured the 18-year-old’s heart when they showed up together on Friday, June 24, to Kanye West’s visual premiere for his “Famous” single. The pair looked more in love than ever as they strutted inside, holding hands. But that was just the beginning of their big weekend.

On Saturday, they pulled up to 1 Oak in West Hollywood in a flashy Ferrari (which he may or may not have “given” her, and she may or may not have paid for). Dressed to impress, Tyga completed his night-out look with a shiny new diamond-encrusted grille. As you do.

The grille was created with more than 1,400 diamonds by hip-hop jeweler Ben “Baller” Yang to the tune of a reported $45,000 — not too bad for a guy who’s had a hard time paying his rent and car leases in the past.

After two nights in a row of flashy partying, Tyga took it down a notch on Sunday and got in some quality family time with his son, King Cairo (yes, the one he shares with Kylie’s brother Rob Kardashian’s now-pregnant fiancée, Blac Chyna). The three-year-old tot spent the afternoon playing in a room packed with toys and taking his motorized car for a spin by the pool (no grille for him yet, though). From the looks of it, this was a father-son bonding day, as Chyna was nowhere in sight.

By Monday, though, the musician was back in the swing of things with Kylie, as the couple attended Khloé Kardashian’s birthday party, where they locked lips in a photo booth to showcase their recently rekindled love. As further evidence of their relationship, they hit up a local high-end car dealership and took a Bentley for a test drive. It seems that neither purchased the six-figure vehicle, however (shed a tear!), but before you get too sad, they did snag a set of matching, diamond-encrusted watches at some point. In case it isn’t clear, Tyga’s life is basically covered in diamonds.

But if that’s not enough to prove his life is charmed, he also recently found a house just one street away from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Bel Air estate. According to the realtors who brokered the deal, Tyga is on the hook for a cool $46,500 per month for the 12,000-square-foot pad, though it seems like money well spent considering it comes equipped with a gourmet kitchen, elevator, fire pit, and oversize pool.

And while there’s been speculation that Kylie has bankrolled at least part of Tyga’s opulent lifestyle, the youngest Jenner took to Twitter back in May to slam rumors that the rapper owed her $2 million.

“Lies lies lies,” she wrote in response to a tweet that alleged Tyga had “finessed” millions out of the lip kit queen. (While her denial is hardly definitive proof that she hasn’t supplemented his spending habits, it did indicate that she didn’t feel he owed her anything at that point — and that was right around when they parted ways, so that’s saying something.)

But perhaps the most magical moment in Tyga’s recent few months happened on Wednesday, June 29, when Kylie referred to him casually as her “husband.” The reality star got a manicure with her gal pal Jordyn Woods, which she memorialized on Snapchat, naturally. While filming an up-close-and-personal look at a set of Egyptian-themed nail designs, she whispered, “This reminds me of my husband.”

ICYMI, Tyga is a huge fan all things Egyptian. His clothing store, Last Kings, is outfitted like a pharaoh’s temple complete with an Egyptian tomb (which he purchased for a mere $20,000 back in 2014) — and if that’s not enough proof he’s the better-half to which she is referring, let’s remember that his son is named King Cairo.

It’s safe to say Kylie was using the term “husband” loosely, but if things keep going well they could be hearing wedding bells soon — and not just at Tyga’s baby mama’s wedding to Kylie’s half-brother.
