The Lyons Meet Lucious's 'Dead' Mom on 'Empire'
On Wednesday’s Empire, Andre Lyon interrupted a family rehearsal with a surprise guest, Lucious’s mother. Lucious had previously said that his mother committed suicide, and he was not pleased to see his long lost ma: “You have no idea what you’ve done,” he told Andre, and walked off. The family reeled in shock.
Lucious later explained to Cookie what he meant when he said that she was dead. “My mother did try to drown me. She did put a gun her to head and pull the trigger and told an eight year old boy it was his fault she was the way she is. It just turns out there was no bullets in the gun.” Still, she died in his heart that day.
The Lyons then used the appearance of Leah as inspiration for a song for the upcoming ASA awards. Everyone seemed like a happy family until Leah woke up Lucious in the middle of the night to feed him cake. Eerily, with a knife, she told Lucious, “Sorry, I was too weak to kill you when I had the chance.”
