'The Late Show' Santa Claus Looks Like John Goodman and Hates 2016

On Monday, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert was visited by a grumpy Santa Claus who oddly resembled John Goodman. Kris Kringle usually brings joy to the holiday season, but instead, he said, “Santa has an important message for those of you feeling down this year — suck it up and grow a pair!”

Stephen Colbert said that 2016 had him pretty upset and asked if Santa could help cheer him up. The Santa, who may have been on Roseanne, said, “Try being an immortal elf whose job was bringing Christmas cheer during the bubonic plague. The hot toy that year was a quick, painless death.”

We found out that Jolly Ol’ St. Nick, who also resembled a character from The Big Lebowski, had a reason to be upset: Mrs. Claus. He explained, “I caught her with one of the elves! Oh, who am I kidding, all of the elves!”

Colbert wished the Santa, who may have scared viewers in 10 Cloverfield Lane, a relaxing Christmas. Santa replied, “Except for me because I have to work that day.”

The Late Show airs Monday nights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
