'The Goldbergs' Sneak Peek: Adam Takes On 'America's Funniest Home Videos'

Ah, the ‘80s. Big hair was in, Walter Mondale was a presidential hopeful, and Bob Saget was in primetime — and not just on Full House. By Nov. 26, 1980-something, America’s Funniest Home Videos was one of America’s favorite primetime specials, and it went on to become ABC’s longest-running show. Back then, the premise of AFV was the same as it is today: amateur videographers compete for a fat cash prize by submitting home videos featuring exaggerated physical comedy and mishaps. It’s no wonder that on our favorite modern-day ‘80s-themed comedy, The Goldbergs, home video junkie Adam Goldberg is all over the AFV bandwagon.

In this exclusive sneak peek from this week’s Goldbergs episode “Just Say No,” Adam (Sean Giambrone) says “yes” to the chance to seek revenge on his annoying big brother, Barry (Troy Gentile), with an embarrassing video entry he hopes will score him the $10,000 AFV prize. Of course, when Pops (George Segal) points out the video doesn’t show Barry in the best light, we feel a little bit bad for the unsuspecting sib — but just for a second. Sure, it’s mean, but Barry has had it coming after a lifetime of waffle bellies and wedgies, right?

The “Just Say No” episode of The Goldbergs airs April 15 at 9:30 p.m on ABC. Another new episode airs earlier at 8:30 p.m.
