Metalcore band The Ghost Inside was involved in a serious automobile accident with an 18-wheeler semi truck on Thursday (Nov. 19) that killed the driver onboard the band’s bus. One other involved in the accident is dead as well.

This accident occurred around 9:16 a.m. local time on Hwy 180 in Texas about 24 miles east of El Paso, reports KVIA, where the band had performed Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles quintet issued a statement following the incident Thursday: “Thanks to everyone who reached out with concern today. The Ghost Inside was involved in a serious bus accident outside El Paso, TX this morning. All 5 band members + all members of the crew are alive and currently being treated for their injuries. Please keep them in your thoughts as well as their bus driver and those in the other vehicle who did not make it. Unfortunately, all US shows on the Locals Only Tour are cancelled. Refunds available at point of purchase. We will update you more when we can.”

A GoFundMe fund raising campaign was set up for the band following the accident, noting that the bus driver was a father. They hope to help cover his funeral expenses.

As well, the GoFundMe page notes multiple members of the band and crew suffered serious injuries, two of whom had to be airlifted away from the accident scene. Equipment was also lost.

The GoFundMe is intended to also cover the band’s medical bills and equipment losses. At time of publishing, nearly $2,000 had been donated.

According to KVIA, the band’s drummer, Andrew Tkaczyk, was seriously injured in the collision. The ABC affiliate reports his brother Nick Tkaczyk posted to his Facebook page: “For those not in the know, my brother Andrew was airlifted to the hospital this morning after his bus was involved in an accident. He is alive, however he has suffered head trauma, as well as broken bones in his lower extremities, and a shoulder injury. He is currently in ICU and may require surgery. Please give us all your prayers, thoughts, whatever it is that you do, as we need it.”
