‘The Bachelor’: Nick Viall Explains That Awkward Shower Scene

When you’re the star of The Bachelor, you pretty much do what producers tell you to — even if it means getting completely naked on camera. When Nick Viall, this season’s Chief Rose Giver and Love Seeker, dropped by Yahoo TV studios recently, we couldn’t stop ourselves from asking him how he wound up on national television like THIS:

“You film a lot of stuff, and a lot of the things that get filmed don’t get aired,” explains Viall, who was understandably a little perplexed when the cameraman asked him to disrobe completely on camera after shooting a “working out” montage. “I’m thinking, like, ‘Why? This is ABC/Disney. It’s not going to get on.'”

But Nick wanted to be a team player, so he agreed to take it all off and hop in the shower — a decision he later regretted. “Then we’re doing it for awhile, and I’m starting to get frustrated,” he recalls. “I’m like, ‘This is not going to get on [the air]. Why am I even doing this?'”

Much to his surprise (and viewers’ delight), the sequence did make it to the air, and he’s OK with it: “Part of me was, like, at least it wasn’t all for nothing!”

The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
