Texas Report Card: PFF grades from the TCU game

It wasn’t pretty, but Texas was able to escape Fort Worth with a win over TCU in Week 5.

First-year head coach Steve Sarkisian has his team in great position to chase the Big 12 title up to this point. However, the next four games on Texas’ schedule are quite daunting.

Texas and Oklahoma will face off in the Red River Showdown on Oct. 9, then will follow the rivalry game with Oklahoma State, Baylor and Iowa State. Alongside Texas, those are considered the top teams in the conference this season.

If Texas is able to escape that four-game stretch with a 3-1 record (or better), they will likely be tabbed the favorite to win the Big 12 championship.

Although TCU was coming off of a loss to SMU, they were still a solid squad that has given Texas many problems in the past. The win for the Longhorns was a measuring stick for how much this team has progressed under the new coaching staff. Good teams find a way to overcome adversity and win bad games.

As far as Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades from this game, the top performer on offense was running back Keilan Robinson, while Moro Ojomo held that honor on the defensive side. Take a look at which Longhorns graded well, and which ones were on the wrong end of the spectrum.
