In a recently shared video update on TikTok, the Clifford family showed some of the fun they've been dealing with since finding out that their pet octopus is a mom of MANY!

After sharing how their story has been picked up by many different media outlets, they revealed that they got an intern to help them care for all the babies.

"Because of the exposure, we have met experts in so many related fields," the video explained. "Babies are getting plump."

The update video also announced the winner of the Adopt-a-pus Tentathon to name one of the babies. And the winner is: Bill Nye the Octopi!

The Family Is Grateful For All The Positive Support

"As we receive exponentially more positive support than we frankly deserve, it reminds me of this meme," the video continued before showing the meme that says, "When you solve a problem at home and everyone praises you, but no one knows that you also caused that problem."

The family also shared that they wish Terrance could understand the amount of "joy she has spread" before sharing an important update on the babies.

The joy Terrance is spreading is attracting TikTokers from near and far. Their page currently has more than 400,000 followers enjoying all the amazing octopus journey updates.

Terrance is a mom of many, many babies. But the update shared some sad news that not all of the babies have made it.

"We are currently in contact with many universities and organizations that would like to rehome the babies!" they said.

"Although the babies will still need to grow a month or two before they can be safely transported, we have been able to fund their entire food supply for the next eight weeks."

The update also shares that the family is choosing to not rehome any of the babies to private owners, "as to not irresponsibly perpetuate or romanticize their caretaking."

On each of the fun update videos, many of Terrance's TikTok family take to the comments to share their thoughts and how much they love going on this journey.

"Your honesty, humor, superb editing skills, and willingness to share your failures on this journey totally bowl me over. Y’all are so, so wonderful," one follower wrote.

Another added, "Title of your memoir: When Life Hands You Octopi."

One other viewer said, "You and your family have gone above and beyond for this octopus and her babies, and that is so good to see in today’s world."

So How Did The Clifford Family Get Here?

In mid-March, Clifford shared a video titled, "How to Buy an Octopus 101" that gave some information about how the family got an octopus as a pet.

"We chose a California Two-Spot octopus," they said. "AKA, the bimac."

A follow-up video shared that their new friend Terrance had arrived. But it wasn't long after Terrance got comfortable in her new home that the family noticed she was acting strange.

"Terrance had been acting strange. She hadn't left her cave in a few days," they explained in the video. "So we got her some new friends to brighten her up. And then we noticed...Terrance laid her eggs."

That's when a sad realization set in for the family. "She will die soon," the video concludes.

But after quite the adventure with all the new babies, Terrance is miraculously still alive and kicking!
