Telfar Clemens, Sergio Hudson Honored At ESSENCE Best in Black Fashion Awards

New York Fashion Week is underway, bringing about several stylish shindigs  throughout the city, including ESSENCE’s Best in Black Fashion Awards and Afterparty, held Thursday evening (Sept. 7) at 74Wythe.

Celebrating visionaries and innovators within the fashion industry, honorees included ESSENCE Magazine September/October 2023 cover star Sergio Hudson, TELFAR founder Telfar Clemens, model Precious Lee and other notable names within the industry. Check out the full list of honorees below.

• Telfar Clemens for Best Fashion Campaign of the Year

• Precious Lee for Model of the Year

• Recho Omondi for Disrupter of the Year

• Antoine Gregory for Emerging Creative of the Year

• Taylor Russell for Red Carpet Maven of the Year

• Bernard James for Accessories Designer of the Year

• Brandice Daniel for Impact Award of the Year

• Carlos Nazario for Stylist of the Year

The evening also welcomed guests like stylist Law Roach, and Former Beauty and Cover Director of ESSENCE, Mikki Taylor. The event comes just days after Harlem’s Fashion Row honored Kelly Rowland, A$AP Rocky and more at the Apollo in an event setting off NYFW.
