Telemundo Host and Cancer Survivor Gets Back in Her Swimsuit After Being Body Shamed

A few weeks ago, Adamari Lopez made it loud and clear that she’s confident in her own skin. “I am very calm and happy doing the things that I enjoy and showing myself as I am because I’m happy with myself,” she told Today after she was body shamed for posting a photo in a swimsuit. This picture was of her relaxing on the beach while on vacation with her husband, dance instructor Toni Costa for her 46th birthday.

Shaking off the negative criticism, the host of the Emmy-award winning morning show Un Nuevo Día put a swimsuit back on and didn’t shy away from the camera following the fat shaming. This time, it was in a YouTube video recently shared by her husband.

In the video, you can see the couple enjoying a day in the sun at the beach with the company of their 2-year-old daughter Alaïa, who isn’t afraid to take on the pool or ocean thanks to her swimming classes.

“Family day with my princesses on the beach among good friends,” Costa captioned the clip of the video he shared on Instagram.

Immediately, followers began to post comments in support of the former soap opera star. “Beautiful all three. The perfect family. May God bless you and keep you as happy as ever,” commented one user.

The 46-year-old, who is a breast cancer survivor, has made it clear that she’d rather focus on “being a mom, wife and public figure” rather than worry about the public’s opinion of her weight.

“What some may not understand is that I am happy with my life and the things I have achieved as a woman, a professional and now a mother,” said Lopez.
