Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Sentencing Date Moved Up to December 2019

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s sentencing date in his federal case has been moved up, Complex reports and Pitchfork can confirm. The rapper, who has been in custody since his arrest on racketeering and firearms charges in November 2018, will now be sentenced on Wednesday, December 18 at 10 a.m. Eastern. His previous sentencing date was January 24, 2020. Pitchfork has reached out to 6ix9ine’s lawyer Lance Lazzaro.

6ix9ine’s lawyers formally requested that the presiding judge expedite 6ix9ine’s sentencing following the completion of his testimony against his former fellow gang members, Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack. “He’s ready to be sentenced at this stage,” Lazzaro said in a recent interview with Complex. “He’s done what’s required and he’s ready for the next stage.”

6ix9ine pled guilty to federal charges and entered into a cooperation agreement with the federal government in November 2018. Due to his cooperation, a judge could give him a shorter sentence than the mandatory minimum of 47 years. Following 6ix9ine’s testimony at the trial of former bodyguard Anthony “Harv” Ellison and another former associate, Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack, both men were found guilty on racketeering charges.
