Teenager suffers life-threatening injuries after falling from balcony at student halls in Nottingham
A teenager has suffered life-threatening injuries after falling from a second-floor balcony at student halls in Nottingham.
The man, 19, was rushed to hospital on Saturday morning after falling at around 3.48am.
He was staying at Nottingham Trent University's Hampden student accommodation.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "A 19-year-old man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after falling from the balcony of a property in Nottingham.
"We were called to Hampden Street at 3.48am today (Saturday 5 October 2019).
"A scene has been set up while we continue with our enquiries.
"At this time we are not treating the incident as suspicious. The man's family has been informed."
A spokesperson for Nottingham Trent University added: “We are aware of an incident which took place overnight at Hampden Halls of residence.
“A student was treated by the emergency services and taken to hospital.
“We are currently supporting the friends and flatmates of the student at this worrying time.

“The safety and wellbeing of our students is our first priority.
“The residence in question is managed by UPP and we will be carrying out an urgent joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
Police have taped off the balcony and are continuing to investigate the incident.
