'Teen Mom' Star Mackenzie McKee Is Taking a Break From Her Marriage With Josh
"Teen Mom" OG Mackenzie McKee has split from her husband, Josh, after 6 years of marriage.
The MTV star shared the breakup news on social media Friday.
She seemingly chalked it up to stress, beginning her message, "I would like to say, that due to stress, me needing to stay focused, the media, etc. I am deciding my marriage needs a break."
Mackenzie continued by stating their three children are the #1 thing on her mind.
"My heart breaks for my kids. But as of right now, this is what’s best. Thank you," she wrote.
Mackenzie and Josh's marriage has been struggling for some time and fans witnessed the heartache when "Teen Mom OG" returned to the air earlier this month.
Before the episode, the reality star warned fans it would be a rough one for her.
"Tonight will not be easy for me to watch. But I know so many are going through what I am going through," she tweeted.
Mackenzie was right, because the episode kicked off with Josh possibly cheating on her while on a work trip with a friend.
When she questioned him on being with another woman, he lied at first until they could hash things out when he got home.
Josh remained adamant that he was faithful to his wife, but admitted he didn't handle the situation appropriately by not addressing the issue right away with Mackenzie.
Adding to the stress load, Mackenzie's mom revealed in the episode that she was about to begin chemotherapy to battle stage 4 cancer.
Mackenzie wasted no time celebrating her single status.
After making her announcement, she shared a selfie with the caption, "Freshly single and ready to, be the boss babe that I am and let God lead me to what i deserve."
Mackenzie and Josh tied the knot in 2013.
Together they share three kids -- son Gannon, 7, daughter Jaxie Taylor, 5, and Broncs Weston, who turned 3 this month.
