'Teen Mom' Star Kailyn Lowry Quits Twitter, Lost Thousands of Followers After Addressing Jenelle Evans' Split

"Teen Mom 2" star Kailyn Lowry has vowed to quit Twitter after she woke up to find she had lost thousands of followers. Ironically, the loss comes just hours after she reacted to co-star Jenelle Evans' announcement that she filed for divorce from her husband, David Eason. Lowry signed off on the social media giant on Saturday, but not before addressing the loss with several tweets airing out her frustrations with the social media platform. "I went from 1.4M followers to 912k over night. Y'all really don't f--- w me anymore, huh?" she wrote.

What Happened?

She followed that tweet up with another one, this time tagging Twitter. "Wtf @twitter. 600k followers over night and still losing. What is happening?" the "Teen Mom" star wrote. "Wow I’m sad! I’m sorry guys.... I f---ed up somewhere evidently." Some of Kailyn Lowry's followers wrote her back suggesting that Twitter had purged all fake accounts. The MTV star countered their responses by stating several of her personal acquaintances told her their accounts randomly unfollowed her overnight without them knowing.

Bye, Twitter!

"I [sic] you look at my mentions it’s all people that were following me, and Twitter unfollowed me for them without them knowing. Even people I know texted me," Lowry wrote. "People who actively follow me and people I know texted me bc twitter unfollowed them from me." Several followers backed up her claims saying they also had to re-follow the mom of three. One person told her, "Something wrong with Twitter, I was following you 30 min ago, then Bam I wasn’t. S--- is weird."

Another follower stated, "I don’t understand how @KailLowry can loose that many followers overnight. Makes absolutely no sense. I had to refollow her this morning!" A third person wrote, "I was following you then all the sudden I saw this, and it said I wasn’t." Finally, Kailyn Lowry grew too frustrated to continue on the platform and appeared to quit Twitter. "It’s been nice knowing yall! But @twitter losing half my followers isn’t ok so I’m out @TwitterSupport," she tweeted.

Fans Plead For a Return:

Many fans are hoping it was just a tantrum and she will return. "Girl calm down it’s just a glitch it happens all of the time. You still have your precious 1 million followers jeez," wrote one person. Another follower stated, "You’re giving up? What about the fans who followed you from day one?" Others quickly filled her feed up with kind words pleading for her return. "Even if your real life advice only helps one person cope, i call that a win!" tweeted another.

While it's unclear exactly what happened with her followers, but the timing of the loss is interesting. As The Blast reported, Kailyn Lowry addressed "Teen Mom" co-star Jenelle Evans' split with husband David Eason on Friday.

Jenelle & David Split:

Despite having a turbulent relationship with Jenelle, Kailyn said she "wishes her the best” in her future. The "Teen Moms" have been at odds for years but most recently, Jenelle didn't appreciate the spotlight Kailyn shined on David Eason's behavior following the investigation into the death of her dog. As The Blast reported, Jenelle announced she had filed for divorce from Eason on Friday.

Taking to her social media, Jenelle released the following statement: "With time away from Teen Mom, I’ve started to look at my life differently and I know I need to make changes. I’m starting that now." Jenelle continued, "The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I’ve filed papers to start that process. I appreciate the support from everybody who has asked how I am. Me and the kids are doing great. We need some time to be together, but you’ll hear from us again soon.” Prior to her announcement, David Eason had posted several family photos including a pic praising his then-wife.
