‘Teen Mom’ Star Kailyn Lowry Reveals Details Of New Secret Baby

'Teen Mom'  Kailyn Lowry just revealed she had a secret fifth pregnancy, and welcomed her first child with boyfriend Elijah Scott.

Kailyn had pregnancy rumors swirling for several months, but Lowry says she did her best to limit the news to their family and friends.

Lowry shared that the baby was a "pleasant surprise" for their family and brought a lot of joy. Despite being a mom of five, the former reality star says she still doesn't think she's a parenting expert. Lowry further spoke about embracing her "new chapter" of life away from the cameras.

After several months of pregnancy rumors, Kaitlyn Lowry has finally confirmed the birth of baby No. 5. Lowry, famous for her time on "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom," welcomed her son, Rio, last year. He's her first child with boyfriend Elijah Scott, and she has four older boys, Isaac, Lincoln, Lux, and Creed.

Instead of giving into the media buzz and revealing her fifth pregnancy, Lowry told People Magazine that she wanted to keep it private. She said, "I wanted to be able to tell my own story on my own terms and kind of share what information I wanted to share instead of being within a contractual obligation or storyline."

Lowry shared that she didn't feel ready to talk about it when she first made the birth announcement on her "Barely Famous" podcast. She said, "I feel like it was ripped out from under me time and time again. I kind of feel like my hands are tied. People are announcing it for me and so, at this point, I might as well just talk about it."

They Did Their Best To Keep It Private

Lowry shared details of how much she and Scott limited information about the pregnancy to their "close circle, our family, and our close friends." The former reality star said they even threw an intimate baby shower for their son, which was a "great time to disconnect." All the guests were asked not to bring phones or any recording devices.

Unfortunately, the news of baby no. 5 was leaked by the hospital, which Lowry addressed. She said, "We weren't able to keep [everything] as private as we would've liked with the leak from the hospital and things like that." She added the violation of their privacy is being handled "internally" at the medical facility.

Kailyn Lowry Says The Baby Was A 'Pleasant Surprise'

According to Lowry, she and Scott didn't plan for their baby, but it happened and "was a pleasant surprise." She said, "As chaotic as it was finding out about being pregnant again, he's been such an incredible baby that it really was a true light at the end of a really dark year for me."

Lowry spoke about how difficult 2022 was for her, with the "lawsuit, the depression that I dealt with, and everything else." She added that birthing Rio brought a lot of joy to her and their family.

During the conversation, Lowry also said she doesn't see herself as a parenting expert despite being a mother to five boys. She said, "I definitely would not consider myself an expert, but I've been around the block a couple of times with kids. I feel like every experience is so new that I wouldn't say I'm an expert."

Kailyn Lowry Is Adjusting Back To 'Normal' Life

The reality star spoke about embracing her "new chapter" of life as a mother to five kids. She said it's a big "adjustment" from her life of "having cameras around all the time." The podcast host added, "And it's weird because it still feels like it's a part of my life because it wasn't that far away. It wasn't."

Lowry shared that she's now getting "used to the normalcy" and being able to live her life without being followed around. She said being able to run her errands and "schedule appointments freely" has been a nice experience. She concluded, "And I'll just stay busy with motherhood and the podcast."

She previously revealed why she would no longer be on the new "Teen Mom" series.

In a chat with E! News, she said, “I want to focus on my self-growth and my kids and I didn’t feel like the show aligned with the goals that I have anymore. I decided it was time for me to move on.”
