Leah Messer is getting some major heat from her Instagram followers. The "Teen Mom 2" star's first post of 2020 was a promotional one, and it was going straight for what might be her followers' biggest pain point – the holiday weight.

Leah was promoting the Flat Tummy app. The 27-year-old's post showed her smiling and wearing a slightly-cropped sweater, with hints of her own flat tummy visible.

Leah was smiling, holding a beverage in one hand, and stretching her arm out towards the camera. Of course, given that Flat Tummy app requires a phone, Leah was holding one.

A caption from Leah wished fans all the best for 2020, alongside detailing the benefits of the app.

"leahdawn92mtv's profile pictureleahdawn92mtvVerified#ad I’m startin the new year off with @flattummyapp to make sure I stick to my resolutions this time around 💪 This year’s all about healthy habits, and this app had everythinggg you need 🙌 450+ equipment free workouts that will kick your butt AND 750+ healthy recipes that will make eating clean breeze… what are you waiting for!? Instagram Is Furious: 'Contributing To Twisted Diet Culture'

Let's be clear – not all replies were negative. That said, a significant amount of users straight-up found the ad inappropriate, with many users seeming saddened that Leah had joined the slew of celebs flogging weight loss products.

"Don’t advertise this to anyone especially younger viewers it’s so unhealthy and unregulated," one fan pleaded.

"Please remove this. It is contributing to twisted diet culture, we all know you don’t actually use it, and it doesn’t work. Stop using your platform of “body love” to push toxic diet culture," another wrote, with over 50 users agreeing.

People Are Even Unfollowing Her

For some fans, this was just too much.

"Unfollowed," one fan stated.

"Sigh...unfollow," another wrote.

"Nooooo leah, i don’t want to unfollow you, but i am unfollowing everybody who promotes this toxic company. Bye."

The swarm of negative replies did see some users defend Messer, though.

"Simmer down, folks. It’s not like she’s selling click bait stories about her coworkers (unlike several others). It’s a workout & recipe app. That’s not exactly promoting “unhealthy body image," a fan wrote.

Leah was also told that she is already "thin."

Not The Only 'Teen Mom' At It

Leah isn't alone as a "Teen Mom" face promoting weight loss solutions. Fans had mixed reactions as Chelsea Houska recently promoted weight-loss plan Profile Sanford. Former "Teen Mom 2" star Jenelle Evans has also promoted slimming products.

Flat Tummy Co. has had its fair share of controversy. 2019 saw Khloe Kardashian famously forced to delete her Flat Tummy Co. ad from Instagram after immense backlash from fans and "The Good Place" star Jameela Jamil.

Also appearing to have deleted her weight loss promo is "Teen Mom OG" star Mackenzie McKee. Her October 2019 ad for Boom Bod has vanished from her Instagram.
