Teenager, 14, arrested after doctor robbed on his way to hospital
A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after a doctor was robbed on his way to hospital, police have said.
Essex Police said the teenager was arrested on suspicion of robbery after several offences in Harlow town centre on Wednesday night, including the robbery of the doctor.
The medic was approached at the Lloyd’s cash point in Market Square in the town at about 9.25pm, the force said.
Here, three people – two on foot and one on a bike – demanded that he take money out for them.
They then escorted him to another cashpoint and withdrew a two-figure sum of cash before returning the bank card to the victim.
In a statement, Essex Police said: “At around 9.50pm, the second victim was approached outside McDonalds on Broad Walk.
“He was approached by a person riding a bike, with two people on foot behind them, and asked for a cigarette and then for money.
It added: “The victim refused and, fearing he was about to be harmed, ran from the group.

“Shortly after 10.15pm, a third victim was approached on Fifth Avenue. Three people threatened to stab him, but he managed to get away unharmed and report the incident.”
The force said a 14-year-old local boy was arrested on Thursday morning but they were working to identify the other two people who may have been involved in the incidents.
