Hannah Waddingham Invites “Ted Lasso” Costar Phil Dunster to Show Off His Inner Bublé on a Christmas Classic (Exclusive)

PEOPLE can exclusively reveal she teamed up with the man who played Jamie Tartt for a festive holiday performance

In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming Apple TV+ special Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas, Phil Dunster reunites with his Ted Lasso costar to sing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” alongside The Fabulous Lounge Swingers duo of Scott Baker and Patrick Davey.

After playing AFC Richmond's striker on the Emmy-winning series for three seasons, Dunster surprises and delights the audience with yet a new talent when he croons the Christmas standard.

The actor, 31, can also be seen busting out some smooth moves as he glides across the floor and spins Waddingham, 49. He even lies on the floor to strike a cheeky pose and wink at the audience towards the end of the performance, at which point the award-winning actress playfully slaps him on the arm.

Recorded live at The Coliseum in London, the one-hour special and its companion album — both set to drop globally next Wednesday — will showcase Waddingham “ringing in the season with musical performances of beloved Christmas classics,” as she “shares her personal journey to this magical moment with anecdotes and memories about her own holiday experiences,” according to a press release.

And Dunster exclusively tells PEOPLE: "Hannah is now the Queen of Christmas, and to be a small part of her extravaganza was nothing short of a Christmas miracle."

In addition to Ted Lasso's dynamite duo and the Fabulous Lounge Swingers, the special also features Luke Evans, Leslie Odom Jr., Eurovision star Sam Ryder and more in performances accompanied by the English National Opera, the London Gay Men’s Chorus and an 18-piece band.

Last weekend, Waddingham sang a duet of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” from A Star Is Born with none other than her Lasso leading man Jason Sudeikis at his annual Thundergong! charity event in his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri.

“There is nobody I would rather sing this song with,” Sudeikis, 48, said before Waddingham stepped out, prompting a chorus of cheers from the audience.

The former costars — whose characters began as wary colleagues but developed a close relationship — shared several sweet moments together during the song, wrapping their arms around each other at the end and hugging before Waddingham left the stage.

Sudeikis then thanked Waddingham, as well as fellow Saturday Night Live alum Will Forte, for appearing at the annual charity event, which raises money for amputees in need.
