Technicality costs ‘Wheel of Fortune’ contestant big

It was just one of those nights on Wheel of Fortune, Wednesday, when contestant Chris Davidson had the right answer but the wrong delivery. At the time the puzzle read “*ro*en concoction.”

“A frozen concoction?” Davidson asked.

“No, you know what?” host Pat Sajak responded. “We can't accept that.”

Obviously Chris knew the puzzle but his addition of an article cost him big. And while numerous viewers could see that Chris was furious and felt bad for his incorrect response, sticklers pointed out that the rules are the rules and he should’ve known.

“Chris knows what he did, which is why he went back,” host Pat Sajak explained. “He threw in that article. He threw in the "A" in front of it, and we can't accept it. Just the way it goes. It's just one of the rules, and we gotta go by 'em, and Carol ends up getting the trip to Puerto Rico.”

While the mistake cost Chris an eighty-four-hundred dollar trip to Puerto Rico, at least he won some serious money. He advanced to the bonus round. While he failed to correctly answer the puzzle, his total winnings were $13,900.
