Tears of the Sun is an action thriller that portrays a fictional U.S. Navy SEAL squad rescue mission amidst the civil strife in Nigeria. Set amidst a violent coup in Nigeria, Lieutenant A.K. Waters and his US Navy SEAL squad are dispatched to rescue Dr. Lena Fiore Kendricks, a US citizen by marriage who is treating victims of the ongoing civil conflict at a Catholic mission in a distant village.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film stars Bruce Willis, Monica Bellucci, Cole Hauser, and Tom Skerritt.
