Taylor Swift's Red Teddy Coat at Travis Kelce's Latest Chiefs Game Just Got Elmo's Stamp of Approval

The 'Sesame Street' Muppet described the coat as "gorgeous" in an apparent nod to its similarity to his own red fur

Taylor Swift's instantly iconic red coat is getting a furry thumbs up from another red icon.

The "Karma" singer, 33, stepped out to the Chiefs-Packers game in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Sunday night to cheer on beau Travis Kelce wearing a chic Stella McCartney teddy coat. Her vibrant outerwear — which she paired with a black turtleneck top and pleated skirt — caught the eye of a famous Sesame Street resident.

On Monday, Elmo gave his stamp of approval to the coat, whose textured fabric bears a striking resemblance to the Muppet's own distinctive red fur.

"Call it what you want, but Elmo thinks that coat is so gorgeous, Ms. @taylorswift13!" read a post from the official Elmo account on X (formerly Twitter), which included a photo of Swift in the look.

Red coats seem to be a trend-of-the-moment among the partners of the Kansas City Chiefs players. Sharp-eyed fans on social media noted that Swift's coat appears nearly identical to the red coat that a then-pregnant Brittany Mahomes was seen wearing several times last year while attending Chiefs games in support of her husband, quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Chiefs tight end Blake Bell's wife Lyndsay also has been spotted recently in a similar coat.

At one point during the Chiefs-Packers game, Swift wore her red coat lower around her arms as she clasped her hands together during some particularly tense on-field action. Mahomes, 28, who sat beside her in the stadium box, coordinated with her friend in a black Chiefs letterman jacket with red sleeves.

While Sunday was all about showing off their team spirit, the two women embraced the festive season on Friday night at a Chiefs holiday party at the Miracle pop-up bar in Kansas City. The event appeared to be a theme party, as Brittany and Patrick wore matching reindeer onesies and Blake and Lyndsay rocked matching Christmas tree-inspired outfits.

Brittany shared photos of the couples' holiday fashions on Instagram on Saturday, writing, "Falalalalalalalalala🎄."

One Chiefs fan claimed on X claimed that Swift and Kelce, 34, got in on the fun by donning matching holiday sweaters featuring a squirrel motif — a comical nod to one of Kelce's old tweets in which he misspelled the word.

"Everyone looked happy and festive" and there was "great energy," an onlooker told PEOPLE of the holiday event.

Last week, a source told PEOPLE that Kelce's friends think the romance between him and Swift is "the real deal."

“They're still a little shocked by all of it — that he's dating the Taylor Swift, but they've seen how down to earth she is with his friends and family," the insider said, noting that Swift and Kelce appreciate each other's accomplishments and success.

“They're both really hard workers, and he acknowledges her art is hers, and he has what's his,” the source explained. “He understands the territory their relationship comes with and like he said, isn't letting any of the hoopla impact how they're growing together.”
