If you thought Taylor Swift took two months “off” to hang with her boyfriend and release her album, well, surprise! She was rehearsing a new Eras Tour set list in order to add the Tortured Poets Department songs into the show (which plenty of people caught onto via the rehearsal footage she put in her “Fortnight” shorts, but anyway, I’m still in the Swiftie asylum, it’s fine if you missed that).

Yes, when Swift opened the European leg of the massive tour on May 9 in Paris, she performed a dramatically reworked version of the show, which previously had only changed slightly from night to night. Here are all the major updates, including the entire Eras Tour set list in order, below:

The Tortured Poets Department set list

It became clear literally from the moment the concert started that TTPD would be incorporated into the show, as the medley of sounds that plays while the dancers take the stage before Swift pops up now included a voice singing “…tortured poets department…”

Toward the end of the evening, the visuals on the screen behind the stage became black and white, and the TTPD era began. Swift performed the entirety of “But Daddy I Love Him” and a portion of “So High School” (the only track from the second Anthology album) before a very dramatic rendition of “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” in which she used an optical illusion to levitate over the stage.

There was also a terrifying Evil Taylor behind her during the song. Nils Sjöberg, is that you?

A UFO graphic cued audiences into “Down Bad,” and then the bed from the music video appeared for “Fortnight.” Swift sang “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and then performed a pantomime skit in which her dancers force her into a sparkly outfit so she can do “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” ending with the lyric “try and come for my job!”

Wanna watch it? Go ahead.

Or you can just wait for the proshot…

Reordered eras

Original Eras Tour set list in order: “Lover,” “Fearless,” “Evermore,” “Reputation,” “Speak Now,” “Red,” “Folklore,” “1989,” acoustic surprise songs, “Midnights.”

New Taylor Swift Eras Tour set list in order: “Lover,” “Fearless,” “Red,” “Speak Now,” “Reputation,” “Folkmore” (“Folklore” and “Evermore” combined), “1989,” “TTPD,” acoustic surprise songs, “Midnights.”

“The sisters are reunited... You can call it folkmore or everlore. Whatever you want as long as you sing ‘Champagne Problems,’” she told the crowd.

Cut songs

The Taylor Swift set list giveth, but the Taylor Swift new set list taketh away. To make room for tracks from the new album, some songs had to go. A few tracks from “Folklore” and “Evermore” were shortened, and “Long Live,” which was a mid-tour addition, is out again.

“The Archer,” “The 1,” “The Last Great American Dynasty,” “’Tis the Damn Season,” and “Tolerate It” were removed as well. As a friend of mine pointed out “Tolerate It” had previously been Swift’s “act it out with props” song, but now that TTPD gave us a bed and dueling typewriters, it would be redundant staging.

New outfits

So. Many. New. Outfits. Though, some are repeat cuts in new colors, and she seems to have stayed loyal to the designers who helped her craft each era.

The “Lover” bodysuit, boots, and blazer were re-created in a pink/orange ombré.

She sang the “Fearless” portion in a silver dress reminiscent of one she’d worn on the Fearless tour.

There’s a new bodysuit for “Red” and her Not a Lot Going on at the Moment shirt said “This Is Not Taylor’s Version,” which some fans have taken as a clue about something, but could also just be a reference to this iconic video:

“Enchanted” dress? New.

(And very hard to get a clear picture of, I’m sorry!)

“Folkmore” dress? The same style as her white dress, but in yellow.

“WHAT ABOUT REP???” I hear you scream and cry from the floor. It did not change. It is the one outfit that has not changed ever during the tour, and as my same smart friend theorized, she’ll probably change it once she releases Reputation (Taylor’s Version). (The only other album she has yet to rerecord is her first, which doesn’t have a designated spot in the concert.)

For the TTPD set, Taylor wore a white marching-band-style jacket and Vivienne Westwood gown with lyrics on it and a choker over a sparkly black two-piece.

For 1989, which had previously been various color-coordinated, fringe-beaded sets, she debuted a pink bra/blue skirt combo (with one pink shoe and one blue shoe) that more directly evoked the outfits of the 1989 tour.

It’s custom Roberto Cavalli. And it gave us this incredible meme:

(Sorry, but it is photoshopped; Chipette Brittany’s outfit is pink-on-pink. Still funny though!)

Misc. Americana

They updated the merch and posters and stuff. Since Swift’s pal Camila Cabello just released a new song, it’s now on the preshow playlist. There’s a new intro to “Enchanted” with ballet dancers and a new snake visual during Rep.

Also, unrelated to TTPD, Swift’s team put up these signs reminding security guards not to manhandle her fans, which is sweet!

TBT to “Stop! She wasn’t doing anything!”

Swift will be touring Europe through the end of August, take September off, and then return for shows in North America before Eras concludes on December 8.
