Taylor Swift's 'ME!' collaborator Brendon Urie weighs in on Scooter Braun feud: 'I stand with Taylor'

Brendon Urie has officially sided with Taylor Swift in her feud against Scooter Braun.

The Panic! At the Disco frontman voiced his support for his "ME!" collaborator Monday in a live video on his Twitch account. In series of profanity-laced responses to viewer questions about Swift, Urie criticized Braun by name and alluded to Big Machine CEO Scott Borchetta, adding he was disappointed but not surprised by the way things went down.

"What a piece of (expletive)," Urie said. "It broke my heart. I read Taylor's statement and I was like, 'This sounds about right,' you know? Toxic dudes doing toxic (expletive) in this toxic industry ... It's disgusting, right?"

News broke Sunday that music executive Scooter Braun had acquired Big Machine Label Group, the record company that owns Swift's entire existing catalog of music.

The pop star wasn't happy, and penned a lengthy Tumblr post the same day, calling the deal an unwelcome surprise and her "worst case scenario." Swift also accused Braun of subjecting her to "incessant, manipulative bullying" for years and "controlling a woman who didn't want to be associated" with him.

"Some fun facts about today’s news: I learned about Scooter Braun’s purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world," Swift wrote. "All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years."

Swift, 29, signed with Big Machine and Borchetta when she was a teenager starting out in the music industry. On Monday, Borchetta wrote in a blog post on Big Machine's website that it was "time to set some things straight," claiming Swift actually did have prior knowledge of the deal and didn't "learn about (the sale) as it was announced to the world," as she wrote in her post.

Urie chalked up Braun and Borchetta's actions to "toxic masculinity."

"He doesn't sound like a very good person, does he?" Urie said. "I stand with Taylor, of course. It's a (expletive) to learn how awful people can be just for a profit. Just for a monetary gain. And maybe some clout. I don't know what clout they feel like they deserve. It's like, dude, you screwed over a young artist early on and knew you were doing it. Everybody involved in that is a piece of (expletive) ... It breaks my heart."

Swift and Urie collaborated in April, appearing together in a music video for Swift's new single, "ME!" They have since performed the song live together several times.
