It seems like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s plans to spend time together keep getting impacted by elements completely out of their control. During the Kansas City Chief’s bye week earlier this month, Kelce’s attempt to watch Swift perform in Argentina was foiled by extreme weather that left the Eras musician no choice but to postpone her show. And now, another, much greater tragedy that occurred at one of the “Blank Space” singer’s concerts reportedly has Swift reconsidering her reported Thanksgiving plans with Kelce.
The high profile couple had reportedly been looking forward to a joint family celebration in Kansas City. Despite their individual packed calendars, both Swift and Kelce have reportedly worked hard to make their competing schedules work for some quality time during the holiday season, as the two are getting super serious.

However, an unforeseen incident at Swift’s concert in Brazil has thrown a wrench into these plans. Amidst the energy and joy that usually characterizes Swift’s concerts, a 23-year-old fan, Ana Clara Benevodes, tragically suffered a fatal heart attack due to the extreme heat.

“I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this,” Swift shared via social media late Friday following Benevides’ passing.
“I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it,” she said. “I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”
This heartbreaking event has deeply affected Swift, leading her to reportedly reassess her immediate plans. “She doesn’t know her holiday plans yet,” a source revealed to Page Six. “The Brazil concerts … She is devastated about a fan dying. The weather is extreme. It’s a mess she didn’t expect. It’s been a traumatic experience. It’s been a lot. She is going to decide today.”
No matter what the two end up doing, here’s hoping that Swift is able to process her grief — and that large venues consider high heat indexes when it comes to the safety of their patrons.
