NEW YORK CITY — Long story short: It appears Taylor Swift is setting the stage for her director and movie era.

One year ago, Searchlight Pictures announced Taylor Swift would make her directorial debut with a feature film she wrote, and last night she was seen with the company's president, David Greenbaum, at the premiere of "Poor Things."

Swift attended the screening in New York City to support her friend Emma Stone. The two have been there for each other since they met in 2008. Most recently, Stone attended the hometown stop of Swift's Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona. And in Time Magazine's 2023 Person of the Year article, Swift said Stone introduced her to choreographer Mandy Moore, who composed the dances for the Eras Tour.

Swift signed a deal with Searchlight Pictures for a feature film she wrote and would direct. No details have been given in the past year about the film.

Seachlight Pictures is the studio behind acclaimed movies including: "The Banshees of Inisherin," "The Menu," "Black Swan," "Slumdog Millionaire," "12 Years a Slave," "Birdman," "The Shape of Water," "Jojo Rabbit," "Nomadland" and "Wild."

In addition to directing many of her music videos, Swift directed a 14-minute video, "All Too Well: The Short Film," in November 2021 starring herself, Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien. The video was screened at the 2022 Tribeca and Toronto film festivals and won several honors including a Grammy, American Music Award and MTV Award.
