Swift’s appearances at NFL games have divided some football that feel too much attention from the game is being devoted to covering the popstar’s reactions. Last week, when the Chiefs faced off the Miami Dolphins, her custom puffer jacket went viral. The game played at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium was under a winter storm that left everyone wanting to keep warm. Early on in the season, the NFL released a statement following backlash over the heavy Swift coverage.
“The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news has been a pop cultural moment we’ve leaned into in real-time, as it’s an intersection of sport and entertainment, and we’ve seen an incredible amount of positivity around the sport,” the football organization said. “The vast majority of our content has remained focused on the game, our players and variety of other initiatives, including our Toy Story Funday Football alt-cast, the international games and more.”
