Taylor Swift References Scooter Braun Drama During 'Icon' Speech at Nickelodeon Teen Choice

Taylor Swift admitted that she's made mistakes in her career, but explained that even if you try to make everything perfect, it doesn't always end up that way.

Swift accepted the first-ever Icon Award, which was presented by soccer star Alex Morgan, Sunday night at the 2019 Nickelodeon Teen Choice Awards ... which took place on the sand at Hermosa Beach.

Her award was a surfboard, which also featured photos of the star's three cats, Meredith, Olivia and Benjamin.

During her speech, Swift gave some advice to the young crowd about growing and learning from past mistakes.

“One thing I wish I would have known when I was a teen is mistakes are inevitable,” she said.

“You think you can possibly ace life, but it’s normal to make mistakes … it’s normal,” she stressed.

She added, "I just want you to know that if you're out there, and you're being really hard on yourself right now for something that's happened, or messing up, or feeling embarrassed, it's normal. That's what's going to happen to you in life."

Perhaps alluding to her recent public spat with Scooter Braun after he purchased her music catalog, Swift said, "No one gets through unscathed. We're all gonna have a few scratches on us. We're living in an insane time, please be kind to yourselves and stand up for yourself, please."

Swift has been extremely outspoken lately, and has addressed both personal and political issues.

Not everyone has been a fan of the 29-year-old star, including Kid Rock, who voiced his opinion as to why Swift gets involved with social issues.

Luckily, Swift still has plenty of heavy hitters in her corner, including Sheryl Crow ... who told Kid Rock to STFU with his vulgar message.

"Spread love. Not hate. End of subject," the star wrote.
