Taylor Swift Praises Kardashian Critic Jameela Jamil For Spreading 'Body Neutrality' Among Women

Taylor Swift is team Jameela Jamil and thinks the "Good Place" star is making a difference in the world when it comes to standing up for women. The 29-year-old singer spoke up about the body neutrality movement, which encourages both men and women to stop focusing on their bodies and not judge others on their bodies either, while sitting down for a Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe earlier this week. Jameela has been a driving force when it comes to speaking out about this issue.

Taylor Loves Jameela:

The TV star has gained attention for critiquing celebrities like Khloé Kardashian and Kim Kardashian for creating a warped view of what a woman's body should look like with heavily edited social media photos. "Thank God we’ve had #MeToo movements and moments where we’re looking at ourselves as a society and we’re looking at internalized misogyny. We’re looking at the way we treat critiquing women’s bodies,” Taylor Swift said during her interview. "We have amazing women out there like Jameela Jamil saying, ‘I’m not trying to spread body positivity. I’m trying to spread body neutrality where I can sit here and not think about what my body is looking like’.”

Taylor Talks Being Slut-Shamed:

The "You Need To Calm Down" singer also talked about her own experience feeling judged and said she felt like her talents were getting overshadowed by the public who were more focused on her personal life, especially in the early stages of her music career. "When I was, like, 23 and people were just kind of reducing me to … kind of making slideshows of my dating life and putting people in there that I’d sat next to at a party once and deciding that my songwriting was like a trick rather than a skill and a craft,” Swift explained.

Opening up that she felt "slut-shamed," the singer continued, “In a way, it’s figuring out how to completely minimize that skill by taking something that everyone in their darkest, darkest moments loves to do, which is just to slut-shame, you know? That happened to me at a very young age, so that was a bit hard. That was one of the first times I was like, ‘Wow, this is not fair.’ ”

What Jameela Stands For:

Jameela Jamil is known for being outspoken when it comes to celebrities, like the Kardashians, for their use of airbrush and editing photos. Earlier this year, she ripped into Khloé for hawking diet detox teas stating, "I hope all these celebrities all s--- their pants in public." This summer, the "Good Place" star also took aim at Kim over her body makeup, which is used to cover up body imperfections. Jameela retweeted a video of the product and stated she was giving it a "hard pass" and told fans why they should too.

"Hard pass. God damn the work to take it all off before bed so it doesn’t destroy your sheets... I’d rather just make peace with my million stretch marks and eczema," she wrote. Jameela also added, "Taking off my mascara is enough of a pain in the arse. Save money and time and give yourself a damn break." She doesn't just critic others when it comes to heavily edited photos. Jameela slammed a magazine over an airbrushed snap of herself. Circling every body part that they made smaller, Jameela Jamil made sure fans knew this wasn't how her body looked like in real life and called airbrushing "the devil."
