Taylor Swift Plays Pickleball, Too

In recent years, pickleball has exploded in popularity—and there's no better evidence than Taylor Swift playing the sport in a recent video.

Swift, in a short video promoting "Fortnight" off her new album The Tortured Poets Department, gives fans a glimpse into the past "fortnight" of her life. In addition to showing the pajamas she wears, the quick video gives a glimpse of the pop star on the court.

Swift looks cute in a sporty outfit that includes a top from Rumored and a lilac skort from Popflex. Of seeing Swift wear her design, Popflex's Cassey Ho tells Town & Country, "I feel like I've been living in a dream the past few days. The Taylor effect is powerful, the Swifties are powerful!" (The skirt is now available for preorder.) In the one second clip, Swift swings a pickleball paddle that features the logo of the Kansas City Chiefs, her boyfriend Travis Kelce's football team. The brand of the paddle, Franklin Pickleball, posted on their Instagram that Swift was in her "Pickleball Era."

Pickleball, as Todd Plummer wrote in Town & Country in March 2022, has become the "preferred sport of the one percent." He writes, "Luxury resorts across the country are converting tennis courts into pickleball courts at an astonishing rate. Big money investors are clamoring for control of nascent professional pickleball leagues. Private estates from Beverly Hills to the Hamptons are adding home courts. And while some fads come and go, pickleball seems to be here to stay." Two years later, it's clear that Swift playing the sport means it is absolutely here to stay.
