Taylor Swift on what it's like to have 'millions of people hate you' in Vogue interview

The prestigious cover of the 2019 "Vogue" September issue belongs to Taylor Swift, the magazine revealed Thursday, releasing the cover and the issue's accompanying interview with the 29-year-old pop star.

In addition to talking about her new music and recent political activism — with her new album "Lover" dropping Aug. 23 — Swift reflected on the months-long social media campaign to “cancel” her, complete with copious amounts of snake emojis, after she and Kim Kardashian feuded over drama with Kanye West.

“A mass public shaming, with millions of people saying you are quote-unquote canceled, is a very isolating experience," she said. "I don’t think there are that many people who can actually understand what it’s like to have millions of people hate you very loudly.”

“When you say someone is canceled, it’s not a TV show. It’s a human being," she added. "You’re sending mass amounts of messaging to this person to either shut up, disappear, or it could also be perceived as, kill yourself.”

The drama between Swift and Kardashian simmered over in 2016, stemming from Swift's condemnation of West's song "Famous," in which he sings, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that (expletive) famous."

In response, Kardashian posted a video of a call between West and Swift, attempting to expose Swift for allegedly approving the lyrics, contrary to Swift's claims that she didn't know what West would say in the song.
