Taylor Swift Might Not Be Happy About The Friendship Between Selena Gomez and Kim Kardashian
It seems insane that Kanye West stormed the stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the VMA's a whole decade ago. For most of us, that feels like it was just yesterday. Mostly due to the fact that a feud between the pair has lived on, never losing steam, as with any juicy, celebrity drama.
People are still choosing sides in the Angelina Jolie-Jennifer Aniston feud, proving celebrity fights in Hollywood just keep on going, much like the Energizer Bunny.
They Seemed To Patch Things Up In 2015
It may have all started way back in 2009, but Taylor and Kanye didn't seem to patch things up until much later.
At the 2015 Grammy's, Taylor was seen chatting amiably with Kim and Kanye, even embracing them in hugs, telling everyone all was right in the celebrity world, and peace had been made.
Kanye even teased a potential collaboration with Taylor, telling Ryan Seacrest, “She wants to get in the studio, and we’re definitely going to go in. Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work. I don’t discriminate.”
The Infamous Phone Call
The truce did not last long between the trio, even with all those chummy pictures that were taken at various awards shows.
In 2016, Kanye West's song "Famous" came out, and let's just say some of the lyrics were not to Taylor's liking. Kanye rapped, “For all my Southside n—-s that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, I made that bitch famous / Goddamn / I made that bitch famous.”
Kanye, however, claimed Taylor had given her blessing on the lyrics, tweeting, “I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line, and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings."
Taylor, however, denied this. A spokesperson told People, “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account.”
In July 2016, Kim released videos on Snapchat, showing recordings of the conversation between Taylor and Kanye, sparking an even bigger feud.
So, it ended up being a "he said, she said" fight, and none of us will ever really know the full truth.
The Feud Affects Everyone
Unfortunately, many celebrity friends of the three feuding stars were caught up in the whole tornado. Many felt they were being forced to choose sides, and things got ugly.
Taylor's ride or die BFF Selena Gomez tweeted, “There are more important things to talk about. Why can’t people use their voice for something that f—— matters? Truth is the last thing we need right now is hate, in any form.” So, it would seem that Selena was not very happy with either side in the fight, and just wanted everyone to get along!
Selena Gomez Gets Caught Up In The Drama
In a now-deleted recent Instagram post, Selena posted a picture of herself wearing a piece from Kim Kardashian's shapewear collection, writing, “Legit So freaking comfortable @skims."
Fans immediately started posting their distaste for this in the comments section, angry that Selena would promote something of Kim Kardashian's, knowing about the Taylor Swift feud.
After deleting the post, Selena shared a picture of her and Taylor together, writing, "“My ride or die I would die for this one. Thank you for forever being by my side. You have taught me so much, walked through all of this with me, STAYED and you remind me to be a better, human being. I’m on your side for life.”
While some were quick to point out that Taylor may have pressured Selena into this, it's clear which side she has chosen.
