Taylor Swift makes surprise appearance at the cafe where she was discovered

Taylor Swift is getting back to her roots — for, uh, one night only.

The singer made a surprise appearance at Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tenn. — the cafe where she was broke out as a star — on Saturday night. Fans in the crowd and on the internet soaked up all the '00s nostalgia they could.

Horrifically branded though they may be, celebrity guest appearances have a special dumb magic that works on us every time.

T Swift performed some of her earliest hits including, "Shake It Off," "Better Man," and "Love Story." About 40 people were estimated to be in the audience.

She appeared on stage alongside country music singer Craig Wiseman. Wiseman recounted the story of a CMT afterparty where Taylor stole his large inflatable bottle of fireball. According to Wiseman, Swift has a real appetite for whiskey.

"I got her a shot of Fireball, and then I got her another one," Wiseman told the crowd. "For the rest of the party, I would go get a shot of Fireball ... and snake my hand through the people (on this balcony) in her general direction. I don't even know if she took it, but it disappeared."

Listen, I'm with you. This isn't exactly LOL territory, folks, but I don't listen to stage patter expecting to hear literature. I'm here for the audience-tested corporate fantasies.

Let's give in, shall we?

Celebrity "surprise" appearances for the win.
